This Quote is to Tow your Boat
INSURANCES:
Goods in Transit: £40,000
Public Liability: £5,000,000
- Question:
Hi.
I'm waiting on the seller to confirm that the boat will be ready on 4th May. I should hear from him tomorrow, after which I'll get back to you. - (20-04-2024)
- Response:
Hi, thanks for your reply, speak tomorrow, cheers John - (20-04-2024)
- Question:
Hi,
The boat will be ready to collect on the 4th of May. The seller is bringing it from Somerset so it's difficult to tie him down to a precise time.
It'd be easier to speak to you re. this. Is that possible? - (21-04-2024)
- Response:
Hi, unfortunately Delivery Quote Compare won’t allow us to exchange contact details until after you have accepted my quote, but we can use this message service until then, cheers John - (22-04-2024)
- Question:
No worries.
The position is that I'm buying this boat from a guy who lives in Somerset. He's very kindly agreed to bring it to the outskirts of Birmingham - we've arranged to meet at services on the M5. [I should add that I know the bloke and he's on the level.]
The plan was that I'd drive down, pay for it and then tow it to Largs. This is now up in the air because of issues with our tow car. We've been hunting for a replacement but finding the right one is easier said than done. Chances are that we won't have one that's ready to tow (i.e. have a towbar) in time, hence the ad on deliveryquotecompare.
Your quote is fine but there are a couple of things you need to know:
1. I need to come to the meeting point to check the boat and pay the balance to the seller. I'd rather take the train than drive, so I've still got to work out how I can get to the meeting point.
2. The seller can't be precise about his time of arrival. He's got a fair distance to travel and it's a Bank Holiday weekend, so delays due to traffic are likely - it's usually mayhem down south on Bank Holiday weekends. I'm guessing we'd be looking at lunchtime/early afternoon for collection.
So, with this in mind, are you still interested in the job?

- Response:
Hi, thanks for the info, yes I’m still interested, i will work around your times and if it helps you could travel back home with me, cheers John - (22-04-2024)
- Question:
Great.
I'll speak to the seller tonight and work out how best I can get to the services - probably by taxi.
I'll be back in touch a.s.a.p.
Cheers,
David - (22-04-2024)
- Response:
Hi David, once you know times that your seller is arriving I can work out where I’m going to be and we might be able to work something out to pick you up, cheers John - (22-04-2024)
- Question:
Great.
I'm phoning the seller this evening to try and get a better idea of times. I'll also check the train times from Glasgow to Brum.
I'll let you know how it goes. - (22-04-2024)

- Question:
Hi John.
The seller plans to arrive at the service area, Frankley services on the northbound side of the M5, by around 9.00am on the 4th of May.
How does that suit you?
Cheers,
David - (22-04-2024)

- Question:
The other possibility is that I have the boat collected from the seller's home in Yeovil on a day that avoids the Bank Holiday weekend. It's further to travel but might be a lot less hassle.
Would that be something you could quote on? - (22-04-2024)
- Response:
I do a trip south and back ever week so I can pick up at Frankley or Yeovil, but I think your right to maybe avoid the Bank Holiday weekend, also to save you coming down I can take a video of the boat and send it to you before I hitch up, cheers John - (23-04-2024)
- Question:
Sounds good.
Shortly before or shortly after the Bank Holiday would probably work best for the seller and me. Would that work for you?
Cheers,
David - (23-04-2024)
- Response:
Give me a few dates that will work for you and I will see what suits my Schedule best and choose one of them, cheers John - (23-04-2024)
- Question:
Hi John,
This is what the seller has come back with:
"Saturday 4th may early or late Friday afternoon on the 3rd I'm not about on the Sunday or Monday away but only 50 miles away"
Are any of those dates okay for you? - (23-04-2024)
- Response:
Yep that could work, I can slot it into my schedule for Friday 3rd late with Saturday morning as an option if I get held up with holiday traffic, cheers John - (23-04-2024)
- Question:
Let's go with that.
What's the next step - do I put this out for fresh quotes or can the existing job description be amended? - (23-04-2024)
- Response:
If you're ready to go ahead just accept my Quote on Delivery Quote Compare and that will allow us to receive each others contact details then we can finalise all the details from there, cheers John - (23-04-2024)
