2 x Car / SUV: Vw Baja beach buggy , Vw Beetle chassis | dani_varndall | Paid upfront for both cars to be transported, which at the time I felt unsure about but was reassured by all Paul’s other reviews. We then arranged a date for collection for both cars. That morning he called to say he was having trailer issues, which fine these things happen. So then rearranged for another date in the new year. Was advised that he wouldn’t be getting to the pick up location until late in the afternoon & then commented while on the phone that he didn’t realise how far the journey was….despite having the postcode for a month. There was road closures & diversions, which again fine these things happen so got to the pick up location even later than expected. He then advised one car was not possible for collection & would need to be air lifted to get it moved. He picked up the other car, but left the parts behind for that car. I’ve since asked for a partial refund as he didn’t do the agreed & paid for 2 journeys to pick up both cars, but is refusing implying he was lied to about the condition of the cars. I have been extremely transparent from the beginning saying they had been stood for 10+ years & wasn’t sure on the condition. I had to hire & pay for another company to retrieve the second car with a standard recovery truck & winch (not air lifted as advised by Paul), they even got the wheels unseized with ease, unloaded it into my garage the other end & all with a smile & not one single complaint. Response:Whilst I take on board the first missed appointment this was due to a trailer being damaged but where I have to put this customer’s comments right are a date in December was arranged but due to anomosity between my client and my clients step mom she wouldn’t allow anyone on to the farm were the vehicles were kept again due to this there was no clear communication in relation to the state of the vehicles we then decided to do it in January and had to wait for the step mum again so when a date was set I spent time through accidents and road closures and then diversions I got to the collection point and discovers the true extent of how much I’d been lied to the buggy had stood for twenty years the clients brother had dragged it with wheels not rotating by a tractor load all it was in such a state it damaged the concrete and the clients brother then informed me that it’s siezed on all four wheels and the step mum didn’t want to have it dragged any further so out of respect for the owners property it was decided to take the chassis which had air suspension the clients brother then put air into the system we then rolled it 4 feet when the suspension lost all air again and grounded a further fitting was replaced and the suspension raised again we loaded it but then told there was a pile of bits which could be secured as there were individual components non boxed and if taken a risk to other road users upon reaching the delivery address the suspension had collapsed again the chassis with engine attached dropped and dug into the bed of the trailer the client didn’t care about that wasn’t bothered about the time of night and I conveyed my feelings about being lied to I arranged to have the other unit uplifted but this had additional costs so I informed the client that due to the mid information the time and subsequent damage caused to a brand new trailer no refund was due because of how much it took in both time and effort I don’t agree with the negative as she did get both units all I have asked of this customer was honesty which was lacking if I had have been given the facts in full then it was more recovery than transport so to sum up I was caught in the middle of a family feud about the cars and the lack of communication this could have been done a lot smoother | |
