| 60m2 of wooden flooring | peter.roberts | 3 1/2 hours after expected collection he informed me there were delays and he would have to reschedule for later. 45 minutes after rescheduled collection I had heard nothing and rang. He informed me he would not be able to take the job as it was too heavy for his van. The contents of the job were accurately listed although the exact weight wasn't (which would have been an estimated 600kg, so not an unreasonable weight for a van). It was an awkward job and I understand not wanting to take it if there had been delays/complications earlier in the day; but I'd have very much appreciated knowing earlier so I didn't have to cause so much hassle for the people at the collection address for nothing, especially since it wasn't urgent and changing to a different day could have been discussed. Response:Peter, This was wooden flooring with an average weight given per slat of 3-5kg - *This is direct from Wickes customer service*. A total weight of around 1470KG minimum. It does make me wonder as to why you're sure of the weight yet couldn't offer that estimate in the information when I was bidding? Even when discussing with you, no weight was mentioned then (Only at a later stage did you come back with that estimate) and you seemed understanding about the situation, unfortunately I cant go off your estimate and so the job was called off due to legality issues. As for letting you know, You were made aware of my concerns at the very earliest opportunity. | |
