The time for owner drivers to start up their own business has apparently come. The RSA Group recently completed a study that suggested economic recovery would require an influx of approximately 300,000 small and medium sized businesses to underpin it. With haulage becoming a contract-based sector, work for the discerning owner driver could be available easily, to help fill the gaps as markets and demand fluctuates. With the right advice and research, small enterprises can be an important boost to the economy, with small enterprise growing by 35% over the last decade.
