Question: With a dry displacement weight of 2904kg (the actual weight will be well over 3000kg) the Doral Monticello is far to heavy to be legally towed on a trailer behind a 4x4. Doing so would be dangerous, illegal and invalidate any insurance cover that was in place. Our quote is therefore based on transporting your boat safely and legally on our artic low loader. Question: 2904kg is the dry weight of the boat when it left the factory. This does not include the anchor, chain etc which will have been added afterwards so there is no way of making it legal to tow on a trailer behind a 4x4. Unless you are happy for your boat to be transported illegally without any insurance cover, you need to have it transported on a low loader. Michael - boat-transport-specialist (08-03-2017)
