Question: How much is the extra insurance and also are there any extra customs charges or anything as I'm not sure how this all works. Most of the items came back from the USA last summer and now we are going back to work temp. - (05-05-2014)

We can insure the items upto £5000.00 for a cost of £100.00

When the items came back from USA did you receive a copy of the import customs entry this will be vital to shipping them back to America due to already paying duties and taxes last year.

We didn't receive a copy if the customs notice, but may be able to get a copy. I have just remembered though that I believe we were exempt from any because it abase Household belongings that we had owned for more than 12 months as we were in the USA on a work visa for 2.5 years. We didn't seem to have to supply any proof of owning the items for this period of time. I believe looking at it now it should be the same thing as the states have the same rule. - (06-05-2014)

It would help if you had the import entry or proof of import ie any of the documents used when you imported your items back to the UK this will help when customs clearing in USA however it is not essential just speeds the job up in terms of processing.

Question: Ok I will definitely do my best to get hold of the documents. Our employer used a certain relocation company so they should have kept records, hopefully!
Could I also check does this quote include loading on/off at each end if there are a few items that may still need packing how much extra would this service cost. It's all packed up in a storage unit but a couple of items were unpacked when trying to sort through things to get rid of some stuff. And there is a couple of bikes which are not packed.

Sorry for the delay. I am still working on this and trying to figure out what do and whether it's actually viable to move our stuff. Your quote is really good I just need to consider timescales and work out if I can reduce the load a little.
I have had notification that the quote is due to expire but wanted you to know that I am not back in the uk till a weeks time so need to wait till then to properly make a decision.
